親愛的聽眾，今天我們要向大家宣布，我們《主內真生命》的姊妹志工莎莉．佩雷拉的死訊。她過去長期在孟買的維索瓦貧民窟，經營一間瑪利亞之家，於2013年11月6日安息主懷。莎莉和雷吉．佩雷拉，是一對為人親切的夫妻，他們在2002年5月時，聽聞了《主內真生命》和華蘇拉。一年後，他們主動加入《主內真生命》孟買祈禱小組，並開始籌備第二個瑪利亞之家的營運計畫，來餵養孟買的窮人。

Dear listeners, today we announce the death of our
True Life in God sister and volunteer, SALLY PEREIRA who used to run the Beth
Myriam in the slums of Versova in Mumbai and who rested in peace on November 6,
2013. Sally and Reggie Pereira, a gracious couple from India heard of
TLIG and Vassula in May 2002. After a year, they actively joined the TLIG
Mumbai Prayer Group and started a second Beth Myriam project to feed the poor
in Mumbai.
The Beth Myriam Mumbai Project started on the 15th
of August 2007; this was an important date for them as they celebrated both the
Assumption of Our Blessed Mother and the Independence of India. Sally cooked
wholesome food and along with other TLIG Prayer Group Members, served the food
to around 200 slum children every Wednesday. On Christmas Day each year, Sally
and family, along with her group of volunteers, arranged a festive chicken
lunch for the children and also distributed clothes, gifts, sweets and holy
items such as scapulars and rosaries. There were few Christians amongst the
children but also Hindus and Muslims.
At Vassula’s meetings and other public TLIG
Meetings, Sally would efficiently and meticulously look after the Sales of
Books and TLIG material and be totally responsible for the collection of
donations.
Her death was very sudden. She died of Dengue (a
dangerous strain of Malaria), after 3 days in the Intensive Care Unit at the
hospital. TLIG Mumbai will miss her dearly. As Agnello Fernandes, TLIG contact
for India,
said in his message to us, “Sally and her loving family are the real rocks of
TLIG Mumbai and worked tirelessly to spread the TLIG Messages.”
He continued: “We thank Jesus for gifting us Sally
and her family for the past ten years and we Praise and Thank Our Heavenly
Father for His Holy Will for Sally, her family, and for our Mumbai TLIG Prayer
Group.
Our sympathy goes out to Sally’s husband, Reggie,
and her two daughters, Bianca and Irinca, who have dealt with her death with
complete trust in God and amazing serenity. We know that Jesus, whom Sally
served with great love and devotion, must have welcomed her in heaven. We pray
that the United Hearts of Jesus and Mary will protect, guide and console the
members of Sally’s family always. May her soul rest in peace.”
