在羅德島流淚的繪圖 Weeping icon on Rhodes

Jim Peters provides this explanation:

We should note that the icon of St. Michael shed tears on the feast day of St. Demetrios, (Demetrius in English) Oct. 26th, 2013 .
You may not know that St. Demetrios was born in Thessaloniki Greece, in the fourth century. He was a high ranking Roman General (Greeks were Roman citizens at that time) and he is considered one of the major Saints of the Orthodox, that was a military general! (As were St. Theodore and St. George). In the same sense, St Michael is a “general” in God’s Army. Hence the link between St. Michael and St. Demetrios.
Moreover, St. Demetrius is one of the patron Saints of Greece (as is the Holy Mother). That St. Michael would choose the feast day of St. Demetrios to “cry” signifies to me that St. Demetrios shares in the lamenting of St. Michael.
Why would Sts Michael and Demetrios lament? Well, beside the usual reasons of global sinfulness, they are also conveying a particular warning to the Greeks for their enormous falling off from their historically high levels of Christian spirituality. (You may not know that Greece tops all countries as it has the largest ratio of abortions per capita)!
Why in Rhodos? Well, I think it is because the Archbishop of Rhodos is the one that has been behind the unwarranted and non canonical attacks of the Patriarchate against TLIG and Vassula. So I think that God tells the world through St. Michael that he is sad with what Rhodos has done against His latest “love song” to humanity, which of course is TLIG.
